Rent A Treehouse in California!
This Airbnb Treehouse in California is a hidden gem you do not want to miss. With an outdoor soaking tub, it’s the ultimate Nor Cal Getaway. The attention to detail and hygge aesthetic really made this my favorite airbnb that I’ve stayed at in the last few years of cabin adventuring. This is the most peaceful treehouse I’ve had the pleasure of staying at and am here to tell you all about this lovely California Treehouse Rental.

Where is the Airbnb Treehouse in California?
This quiet forest glamping hut is located near Mendocino California in the small town of Elk, California located off of Highway 1.
Is it close enough to be a Getaway from the Bay Area?
This Northern California Airbnb Treehouse is truly the a perfect Getaway from San Francisco, San Jose or Sacramento. It is roughly 3 to 4 hours away from these larger cities.
About the Area:
There is a LOT to do and see just a short distance from this Treehouse Rental. Towns nearby that are worth checking out are Mendocino, and Fort Bragg. From Breweries, unique beaches, canoe rentals, and cozy cafes, you will not be bored here. I’ll include a complete list of things to do later on in this post!
Getting to The Mendocino Airbnb:
The closest airport is the Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa about one hour away. Other airports nearby are San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento about three hours away.
Airbnb Hosts provide easy to follow directions and a standard vehicle is just fine to get there.
About the Airbnb California Treehouse Rental
It is perfectly tucked away just a few miles away from the coast and ocean views. This forest treehouse getaway is hidden in the forest with Redwoods on a logging road that offers privacy, relaxation and QUIET. There are so many things that made this unique airbnb rental my favorite, but the attention to detail here is next level and really starts off your getaway right.
We pulled into the parking spot and followed the lights down a beautiful short path to the forest camping hut. The owners create quite the experience with soft glowing lights and ambient music playing as you enter this stay. We couldn’t help but notice all the textures and colors in the airbnb also creating such a calm environment.
What is the Cost of the NorCal Airbnb Treehouse?
Per night, this treehouse comes to $327.50 per night with cleaning fees, services fees, etc (as of January 2022). A two-night minimum is required and honestly you wouldn’t want to stay any less time than that anyway! It is definitely one of the pricier cabin rentals I’ve stayed at, but it 100% worth saving for (especially with the outdoor tub and shower space!).

Outdoor Tub at the Treehouse Airbnb in Nor Cal
If you know me, or have followed me on social media, you know I’m obsessed with hot tubs, hot springs and soaking tubs. So, I’m sure it’s no surprise that this was my favorite experience here.
Towels and Bathrobes are provided. The hosts provide essential oil and Lavender tea leaves to add to the tub water. The water gets nice and HOT and can comfortably fit two people. This soaking space does have a roof, so it is still very relaxing rain or shine. Now I’m imagining this place in the rain and bet it is pure MAGIC.
I enjoyed reading a book with a glass of wine and occasionally got lost in my mind while staring at the forest. Truly a delightful experience with all beautiful and carefully thought out details.
NOTE: I only saw one small spider! (I always get asked this when visiting outdoor tubs lol)
Things to Do Nearby
Navarro, California
Only 10 minutes from the Airbnb Treehouse California is Navarro River Beach. You’ll catch a glimpse of it if you are traveling south down highway 1. It has some lovely sea stacks and rock formations that I think are worth seeing.
Mendocino, California
Canoe Rentals/Bike Rentals
I took the hosts’ advice and reserved a redwood canoe through Catch A Canoe Rentals. It ended up being a glorious day and we hit the river at 12:30 and spent almost 2 hours watching seals and ducks from a distance. Also, these canoes have outriggers that make it almost impossible to tip, which relieved SO much anxiety for me.
- $55 per person (Adults)
- 3 hours on the Big River Estuary
- They also offer bike rentals
Shopping
We spent a good chunk of time walking around the shops to find a gift for the lovely lady that checks our mail while we are away. The shops here had such great home items that I would love in my future home.
Cafe’s/Restaurants
There are a few options here! We loved checking out Goodlife Cafe & Bakery.
Fort Bragg, California
Glass Beach
Fort Bragg has a beach that is loaded with sea glass. It was apparently a local dumping spot for glass with one article stating from the prohibition era. It is prohibited to collect and remove glass from this beach, but it is very much worth checking out and sunset and ocean views there are lovely.
North Coast Brewing Co.
This happens to be my partner, Johnathon’s, favorite brewery. We stopped to grab a beer in their outdoor tent. If you’ve never had their beer, Scrimshaw is my favorite.
Other Things To Do:
There are of course so many things we did not get a chance to check out, because I was too busy enjoying the Treehouse airbnb! I recommend using AllTrails to research trails in State Parks and beaches in the area.

Summary of this California Treehouse Rental
This California Treehouse Rental is one of the most unique airbnbs I’ve experienced AND with the most thoughtful details. I would love to book another stay here and soak in that fantastic outdoor tub again. I’d recommend checking back often for availability as places like this tend to stay booked (for good reason). This is truly a magical place for a romantic getaway, girlfriend weekend or to stay alone. Be sure to let me know if you book this Mendocino Airbnb!
